Job Advert
Passionate about people and culture? Looking for a role in the West of Scotland that will stretch and challenge you?
Argyll & Bute Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP) are looking for a People Partner to be the strategic advisor to the Chief Officer and their leadership team.
This is a brand new role to create and manage the HSCP’s people plan and priorities and ensuring access to all the support and services they need from the people teams within both Argyll & Bute Council and NHS Highland. This is a complex role, with many stakeholders, so you’ll need to be skilled in creating and maintaining relationships and managing priorities and know when to stand firm and when to be agile. But it’s also an exciting time to be working in the Health and Social Care sector, transforming our services at a time when we’ve never been needed more.
Educated to degree level with a post graduate qualification in HR or related business subject and Chartered CIPD membership, you will also need experience of working at a senior level within a complex organisation to deliver people services and advice, with a sound knowledge of Employment Law. You don’t directly manage a team but need to be able to work collaboratively with the wider teams and a range of stakeholders to deliver your role. You don’t need to have NHS or public sector experience, as long as you are enthusiastic, motivated, keen to succeed and able to learn quickly about our organisation.
About Argyll & Bute HSCP
Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership is a forward thinking, high performing and ambitious organisation that focuses on delivering person centred and integrated services across the area. It covers one of the most complex areas in Scotland, with 23 inhabited islands, six main towns and remote communities and has an ageing and declining population. The Integration Joint Board is responsible for all services, from social care to acute, as delegated by NHS Highland and Argyll and Bute Council, although those working in the partnership are employed by either the council or NHS. We are realistic about our challenges, but have a talented, professional, innovative and creative workforce who are committed to doing their very best for those who rely on us for their most personal needs. We are based firmly in our communities and working closely with colleagues in the third and independent sector, strengthening and building relationships every day.
Working as part of NHS Highland
In this role, while you will work for the HSCP, you’ll be employed by NHS Highland as part of our People & Culture Directorate. We’ve got a great team across NHS Highland, full of people who have great skills and experience and believe in what we do. It’s hard work at times being part of a health and care system in the midst of a global pandemic, but it’s also refreshing to be part of something that is so important to us all and to make our own contributions to that. We operate a blended working model with a mix of home and office working, based on the needs of the role. In addition to the salary, you will be eligible to join our career average pension scheme, which we contribute 20% of salary to, generous leave entitlements and attractive family friendly provisions.
Wanting to find out some more about the role? Please contact Fiona Hogg, Director of People and Culture (fiona.hogg6@nhs.scot) or Gaye Boyd, Deputy Director of People (gaye.boyd@nhs.scot) to arrange an informal chat.
