 We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS team as a Specialist Clinical Psychologist.

There are multiple vacancies both full and part time available with various locations.

The salary for the part time positions will be pro-rata. Part time post will be a minimum of 30 hours. 

This post is based in the north locality CAMHS team, assessing and providing clinical interventions to children and young people presenting with mild to moderate mental health concerns  You should be a car driver with a valid UK driving licence.

To provide a high quality clinical psychology service to children, adolescents and families in a specified Child and Adolescent Mental Health [CAMH] team working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the department’s policies and procedures.  This includes:

• Psychological assessment and therapy
• Advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non psychological colleagues and to other non professional carers.
• Teaching principles of psychological theory and therapy to non psychologist colleagues in health and social care.
• To provide teaching and supervision to other psychologists, Trainee Clinical Psychologists, trainee and graduate Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology and Assistant Psychologists
• To apply research skills to guide and develop evidence based clinical practice, and in service development, service evaluation and clinical audit, and undertaking clinically relevant research.
• A First Class Honours or Upper second Class degree in Psychology that provides eligibility for graduate basis for registration with British Psychological Society.
• An accredited postgraduate Doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology to meet the requirements for eligibility to register as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and as a member of the Health and Care Professions Council. Once registered as a member of the HCPC, the post holder should maintain registration.  These qualifications confer an advanced level of theoretical and practical knowledge of a range of theoretical models and working practices.
• Significant post qualification experience of working with children and young people with psychological problems and their families.
• Training in and experience of, supervising doctoral Clinical Psychology trainees and trainee Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology.
• Ongoing professional development activities as required to continue practising as a Clinical Psychologist, including clinical supervision and further specialist courses and training.

Ideally the post holder will have

• Experience of representing psychology in the context of multi disciplinary care and of providing consultation to other agencies and professionals within and outwith the NHS
• Experience of teaching, training and professional clinical supervision
• Post doctoral level of knowledge of theory and evidence base relevant to CAMHS psychology
• Competent in the use of complex methods of clinical psychological assessment, intervention and management appropriate for work in CAMHS including clinical neuropsychology and psychometric assessment
• Good knowledge of relevant policies and legislation
• Well developed skills in the ability to communication effectively orally and in writing highly technical and clinically sensitive information to clients, families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and out with the NHS
