Lead GP Old Aberdeen Medical Practice
Newburn deliver clinical care to circa 30,000 patients with a population demographic covering Aberdeen city centre, Northfield and a significant population of Aberdeen University students at our Old Aberdeen site.  This allows for an interesting and varied clinical workload. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitable to candidate to lead and shape primary care health services at Old Aberdeen Medical Practice. This practice services a predominantly (75%) student population and is located near the Aberdeen University site just off Spital. 

The successful applicant will form part of a new multidisciplinary team delivering innovative health care to the student population. This role requires a high level of autonomous and independent working and contributing to service redesign and patient demand systems. 

Salary £100,000 WTE plus £5,000 starting bonus (pro rata) 

• Minimum commitment for role 6 sessions 
• Medical indemnity cover provided for all clinical work 
• Dedicated time for management and leadership activities provided

Key requirements and job details:

• Significant clinical experience and confidence in managing day-to-day primary care work autonomously 
• Aptitude or current skill in clinical leadership 
• Skill in remote consultation- telephone consultation/triage/eConsults and video consults 
• Strong communication skills 
• Aptitude or current skill in supervising junior clinical staff members 
• Overseeing day to day running of clinical service provision in conjunction with support from the executive management team 
• Contributing to the development of effective clinical demand and workload management systems 
• Experience in creating and maintaining appropriate clinical governance processes.
