This is an exciting opportunity to become an embedded member of the dynamic and developing Lothian Perinatal Community Mental Health team.

This multi-disciplinary team serves a Lothian population of around 850,000, with approximately 9,000 live births per year.  The service currently accepts referrals for women or gestational fathers experiencing features of moderate-severe mental illness or with established diagnoses known to carry particular risks in the perinatal period. The service works across the diverse communities covering Edinburgh City, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian and promotes inclusive care. The service aims to provide patient- and family- focused interventions that promote recovery, including the parent-infant relationship and infant development.

The postholder will provide highly specialist psychological assessment and formulation-based interventions to assess and treat the spectrum of moderate - severe mental illness that presents during the perinatal period. They will also deliver clinical supervision, consultation and a collaborative role across the services involved in continuity of psychological care across this unique and critical period.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
