Domestic Abuse Advocacy Development Worker

Part-time 0.6 Whole Time Equivalent (22.5 hours per week)
You should have demonstrable experience in advocacy for survivors of domestic abuse with a thorough understanding of the dynamics and prevalence of abuse. An IDAA qualification (or willing to train towards) and experience of delivering training would be desirable.
EVA Services is a specialist service within NHS Lanarkshire providing information, support and therapeutic services to women who have experienced violence or abuse at any time in their lives. EVA also works at a strategic level to improve service responses to women survivors of abuse across the NHS and partner agencies in Lanarkshire.
To support the aims of EVA Services by providing an advocacy service to women who have experienced domestic abuse, and by working to improve the coordination of services for women in Lanarkshire who have experienced domestic abuse.
Degree level education, with previous experience in a relevant field.
Additional training in working with domestic abuse survivors is desirable.
A thorough understanding of the prevalence and effects of domestic abuse on women, gained from direct experience of working with survivors of domestic abuse.
Experience of providing advocacy.
Experience of partnership working.
Excellent communication skills.
Keyboard skills, proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Access.
The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Valid Full UK Driving Licence is essential to the post.
