LEAD PROFESSIONAL NURSE ADVISOR
AfC Band 8b plus a High Secure Environmental Allowance of £1,390.20 per annum
Hours - 37.5 Hours Per Week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic nurse leader to fulfil the role of Lead Professional Nurse Advisor within the State Hospital. The successful candidate will champion service excellence, providing expert professional leadership to all nursing staff within the Hospital in pursuit of the delivery of safe, effective, and person centred care.
Reporting to the Director of Nursing, Allied Health Professions and Operations, the post holder will lead the day to day development and delivery of the professional agenda as it relates to nursing, and the impact on the care, treatment and recovery of patients with a mental illness or intellectual disability who are being cared for in a high secure setting.
Within the post-holder’s day-to-day duties, there is an emphasis on professional and practice development, creating a high quality learning and development environment, and the delivery of a high quality, safe nursing service.
Developing and maintaining external professional networks will be a critical aspect of the post-holder’s role, including making a regular and significant contribution to the strategic development of the nursing agenda across Scotland.
The post holder will work collaboratively with senior nursing and management colleagues in driving the improvement and assurance of Nursing practice, and will have direct management responsibility for the Nursing Practice Development function.
The post holder will deputise for the Director of Nursing, Allied Health Professions as required.
