SURGICAL WARD/Day Surgery Unit

HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT

Band 2 - £19,609 to £21,615 pro rata

Allowance £1,117 pro rata hours per week

31.25 hours per week.

2 year fixed term contract to cover secondment


A vacancy has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant within Surgical ward/Day Surgery Unit.  Surgical ward consists of 18 inpatient beds, specialities include orthopaedics, general surgery and gynaecology. 


Applicants should be committed to providing a high standard of care and interact well within a multi-disciplinary team. Applicants should have good communication skills; previous experience working within health or social would be desirable but not essential. Day night rotation as well as weekend working is essential for this post


The successful candidate will need to achieve the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers and comply with the Code of Conduct within three months of full time employment or up to six months for part time workers.  For further information see www.hcswtoolkit.nes.scot.nhs.uk
