We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated dietitian to provide specialist community dietetic services across North Ayrshire. Our vision is to care for our communities and patients by preventing ill-health, promoting better health, providing excellent services and reducing the need for inpatient care wherever possible through the provision of strengthened home, primary and community care through the Caring for Ayrshire ambition.

You should share our values and vision of an integrated community dietetic team.

The post includes delivering care to patients of all ages referred by GP Practices, Acute and Community Hospitals, Care Homes and other Health Care Professional by providing an efficient and effective dietetic service to patients requiring home enteral feeding, oral nutrition support, diabetes dietary education for example . The post will have a mixed caseload made up of community visits to patient’s own homes and care homes, outpatient clinics and virtual appointments/ group sessions.  The role may also include teaching to health, social and third sector colleagues. You will also be responsible for leading on service development and quality improvement projects whilst also supporting junior staff and dietetic students.

The post is based within Ayrshire Central Hospital, which has excellent commuting links to and from Glasgow,  and will work alongside Dietitians, Dietetic Assistant Practitioner and Dietetic Support Worker colleagues to support effective delivery of dietetic care.

This post is ideal for either existing Band 6 dietitians looking for a career change or Band 5 dietitians with experience and ready to take the next step in their career.

You should possess an Honours degree/postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.  Experience in a variety of specialties and settings is essential. Evidence of competencies and skills required to deliver this post is essential e.g. excellent interpersonal skills, excellent team working and robust prioritisation and time management skills.
