To Provide advanced physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge of own patient workload in Mental Health covering the older adult Mental health ward(s) in Stobhill hospital.  To work closely with other disciplines and the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to provide an efficient pathway of care, including discharge follow up, when required. To be accountable to the Highly Specialist physiotherapist or Physiotherapy Manager on each area of speciality and carry out work as designated by them and to deputise for them to ensure continuity of Service delivery.  Assess capacity, gain valid consent and have the ability to work within a legal framework with patients who lack the capacity to consent to treatment i.e. Patients who have a significant barrier to understanding and may be resistant to engage in physiotherapy. These barriers will include; dementia, severe cognitive impairment, sensory deficits, behavioural problems, anxiety and depression. Expert use of verbal and non-verbal skills will be required.  Act independently to assess, analyse and provide a clinical diagnosis for individual patients to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention.  You should have a Degree or diploma leading to Physiotherapy HPC registration.  Current HPC registration.  2 years experience in a range of in and out-patient clinical specialties.  Relevant post graduate training–regular in-service training and post graduate courses e.g.  Normal movement, management of respiratory conditions, musculo-skeletal joint assessment/management.
