Job Advert
The adult immunisation programmes within the Vaccination Transformation Programme are transferring from General Practice delivery into NHS Fife’s Immunisation Team; as a result, we now have vacancies for six permanent band 5 staff nurses looking to join our innovative, dynamic service.
As an Immunisation Staff Nurse you will be required to work across the Fife wide area, vaccinating within a variety of community settings, providing a robust immunisation service to the people of Fife. The team currently delivers the childhood immunisation programme, including seasonal flu vaccination for children and supports the newly evolved COVID-19 vaccination programme. These are development posts and as such there may be a need to support other healthcare initiatives as they emerge.
You should be a first level registered nurse, experience working within the community environment and in particular the field of immunisation, would be an advantage but is not a requirement as full training and mentoring will be provided.
You should be an autonomous practitioner, able to integrate and work competently within a skill mix team. You should be able to respond to the physical, mental and emotional challenges of working within a developing service. You should be fully committed to your own professional development and ready to undertake specific development required of the role. In return, you will be working within a close, supportive team and will be mentored through induction and education programmes to meet all competencies required to work in this exciting field of nursing.
For informal enquiries, please contact Fiona Duff – Business Change and Immunisation Programme Manager on 01383 565180.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
