Applications are invited for a Band 7 CBT Therapist for Prison Healthcare.
The Clinical Psychology Interventions Service in prison healthcare operates within the Adult Mental Health Services of NHSGGC. The service provides psychological assessment and treatment for people with mental disorder who may present a risk of serious harm to themselves and/or others. Referrals to the service are currently accepted from NHS colleagues, criminal justice social workers and forensic psychologists.
You will receive supervision by a team Psychologist and work closely with the wider MDT; you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the direction and development, evaluation and monitoring of operational policies and services. Candidates must have a postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which is recognised and accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy, and relevant professional training to degree level or equivalent in a core profession which includes basic psychotherapy training, i.e. Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Work, Occupational Therapy. Significant experience of working within a multi-disciplinary setting within Adult Mental Health within the NHS is essential. The post requires the ability to travel to bases across the Board Area.
