The NHS Tayside Pharmacy Service provides excellent opportunities for newly qualified pharmacists to work in a variety clinical and technical rotations. New models of working to deliver the future described in Achieving Excellence in Pharmaceutical Care are also in place including prioritisation of patients, pharmacist prescribing and we are also embarking upon the implementation of HEPMA.
We have an excellent structured post-foundation training programme tailored to develop your clinical, technical and medicines information skills, as well as meet your individual needs. The post is based in Dundee Hospitals (Ninewells Hospital, a large teaching hospital and Carseview Centre (Mental Health services) where you will gain experience in a variety of specialities to prepare you for a range of challenging senior roles within the pharmacy profession. You will be working alongside a supportive team of ten other post-foundation pharmacists.
To meet patient needs you will also have involvement in 7 day service provision, including weekend working, public holidays and on-call service provision. You will be supported with training and mentors to undertake these roles.
Applications are welcomed from newly qualified pharmacists and hospital and community pharmacists. Pharmacists will be expected to complete the NHS Education Scotland Post-Foundation Pharmacist Development Programme and will be provided with learning and development opportunities supported by designated supervisors.
Hours of work are: 37.5 hours over 7 days.
