Who We Are

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.

This post will be part of the Experience team in NES Digital. This team is responsible for the user experience and user interface design of the Turas digital platform and other corporate applications and websites.


What you'll do 

Key tasks will include but are not restricted to;

  •  develop well crafted research plans with clear research objectives to coincide with project milestones
  •  manage the recruitment of targeted end users for specific research studies
  •  design and carry out in context and remote usability and accessibility studies
  •  design, execute and analyse qualitative/quantitative surveys where appropriate
  •  plan and facilitate research workshops
  •  communicate research results in a meaningful and actionable way, so that the team share a strong and empathetic understanding of the users
  •  work closely with designers and developers to turn user research findings into stories and actions
  •  provide advice on content and flowchart design
  •  any other user requirements gathering required


What you'll bring to the Experience team

These will include but are not restricted to;

  • Demonstrable knowledge, experience and passion for user centered design practices for web.
  • Experience planning and conducting user research, e.g., usability testing, UI reviews, surveys, interviews, workshops
  • Knowledge of UX and UI principles.
  • Use of Analytics (Google, Hotjar etc.)
