General Practitioner with Special Interest in Substance Misuse

Fixed term Contract for 12 months
NHS Orkney is offering a 12-month fixed term contract for GP with Special Interest in Substance Misuse for one day per week. The post holder will support and oversee a small clinical team of Non-Medical Prescriber Community Psychiatric Nurses and Support Workers who provide clinical treatment including substitute prescribing for drugs and alcohol in Orkney.
The post may be extended beyond the fixed term subject to financial support and evaluation.
We are looking for an individual who has a special interest or previous experience working within alcohol and drug treatment services providing leadership in the prescribing of replacement therapies, can provide clinical leadership to empower a highly motivated and experienced multidisciplinary team and help us develop an integrated service for patients within the vibrant communities we serve and live in.
