This 11 month Physician Associate post is an opportunity to embed skills and competencies in General Surgery, receive further training and deliver patient care in a supportive environment.
The post will primarily incorporate 3 days of Colorectal Cancer work including vetting of USC referrals and outpatient clinics with 2 days of inpatient ward activity. This provides a unique opportunity to develop skills in the support and clinical management of Colorectal Cancer.
This is fixed term post with the potential to be extended if funding permits.
Applicants must be registered with the UK managed voluntary register for Physician Associates.
Candidates must have completed eleven, 4 week clinical placements while on the University of Aberdeen or equivalent and have completed their intern year. Current and valid certification (or recertification) by the Physician Associate national examination board or if American trained current and valid certification with the national commission on certification for physician assistants.
Applicants will be expected to maintain their own clinical skills to a high standard to ensure safe delivery of care. They must be able to work flexibly and multi-task when necessary including as required out of hours work.
Satisfactory references, OHS and PVG clearance will be required prior to commencement in post.
