NHS Orkney is an island Board providing acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services. With a workforce of around 620 staff, delivering healthcare to a population of approx. 22,000 people.
With an annual revenue budget of c £55m and a capital budget of £1m.
It is a very exciting time to be joining the NHS Orkney as we implement our refreshed Clinical Healthcare Strategy, which is underway to ensure delivery of better health and healthcare outcomes for the population of Orkney.
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Financial Services Function, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury and Endowments and the collation and preparation of the Boards statutory annual accounts and Endowment accounts.
The post holder will ensure the ongoing efficiency and effectiveness of the Board’s financial accounting systems and processes through continual review and updating to support the Board’s objectives and compliance with national NHS financial and legislative obligations.
We are seeking to appoint an engaging and inspiring leader who, can challenge conventional thinking, embrace change and have a genuine desire to continuously improve financial performance. We are looking for a candidate who will bring experience of developing and implementing financial process improvements.
You will be a qualified accountant with a recognised Consultative Committee of Accounting Bodies (CCAB), with demonstrable experience in a Senior Finance Manager role.
