An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic nurse (Band 6) to join our team in the Medical Assessment Unit/Out of Hours Service at the Vale of Leven Hospital.
There are two dimensions to this post.
- Medical Assessment Unit is a 5 bay area, receiving patients via 999 ambulance, GP and self presentation with acute medical problems. The model of care at the Vale of Leven provides medical care to patients without anaesthetic input. Using strict guidelines and protocols the patients are assessed to ensure suitability for the department/hospital.
- Out of Hours service provides minor injury and minor illness care to patients of all ages. NHS 24 referrals and self referrals.
Both departments work in conjunction
The candidate requires a minimum of 2 years experience in the emergency care setting with skills in early recognition and treatment of the unwell patient. Experience, skills, knowledge in the treatment of injuries and the care of children is essential. Support and ongoing training in all aspects of the role are available
This post is full time, rotation both days and night shift. It is essential that you are a Registered Nurse trained in adult in general nursing. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
