An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Speech & Language Therapist to work within the Children & Young People’s Speech & Language Therapy Team in NHS Borders. This is a key post leading the Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) Team, and contributing to overall SLT Service development and improvement. The post holder will also have a role in liaising with Scottish Borders Education colleagues; especially in relation to educational placements for children & young people with DLD and ASD. You will also be responsible for providing day to day management, supervision and leadership for a small group of staff. Clinically you will hold a caseload of children with DLD &/or ASD and will be responsible for providing 2nd opinions within this client group
Within NHS Borders we actively encourage working across the 4 pillars of practice and participation in CPD activities and offer the opportunity to further develop skills and knowledge in the field of DLD, in line with the Promoting Excellence framework to Enhanced Level.
The successful applicant must have a degree in Speech & Language Therapy, and be registered with HCPC. In return for your enthusiasm and commitment, we provide a supportive working environment and access to further training and development opportunities.
A driving licence is essential and a pool car may be available, however, applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes, if required.
This post is a fixed term 30 hour post for 12 months to cover a maternity leave. Part time hours may be considered
