Salary Scale : Band 2 : £19,609 - £21,615 (pro rata)

Due to a retirement in early 2022, an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Healthcare Support Worker to join the Phlebotomy Team at Raigmore Hospital on a permanent basis.

The successful applicant must be experienced in venepuncture, and will be confident working without supervision, be capable of building a good rapport with patients and making them feel at ease.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, and ideally you will have some experience of using computerised systems.  It is essential that candidates are able to maintain patient confidentiality, and are committed to providing a high standard of patient care.

Working as part of a team of phlebotomists you will visit specified inpatient wards to take blood samples from patients.  The postholder will work Monday to Friday, 06.30 - 09.30, although some flexibility may be required to work on a Saturday or Sunday morning should this be needed.

Interested candidates must be able to provide evidence of competence in venepuncture as this is an essential requirement for this post.

Interviews will be held in January 2022.
