A rare opportunity in a rewarding and challenging position as Paediatric Audiology Service Manager based in the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow has arisen. The post holder will report to the Head of Service being responsible for the operational management of the Paediatric Audiology Service which is provided across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The service provides both acute support to ENT and Audiological Medicine and Audiologist assessments supporting the wider hospital service and outreach services. The service has a substantive hearing aid caseload including BAHA, sound sensitivity, APD assessments paediatric balance service. Responsibilities will include audiometry, electrophysiology, hearing aid assessment and rehabilitation, people management and service review and development. The service has a multi-disciplinary ethos and approach to supporting hearing impaired children. The overall caseload is very interesting as the service is based within a regional specialist hospital which attracts rare cases and conditions.
Ideal candidates will essentially be educated to degree level (or equivalent) with minimum of 5 years experience in paediatric audiology and registered with a professional body such as RCPP or HCPC. Forward thinking, excellent organisational and planning skills and communication ability are key skills required for the job. It is desirable that the post holder will have some previous experience of supervisory management
The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm
