Fixed Term for 23 months
We have an exciting and innovative opportunity for young person to apply for a modern apprenticeship within the Cashiering Service, based in Ninewells Hospital.
A Modern Apprentice will work as part of the Cashiering team and develop their skills in a range of business and administrative duties, with a focus on the cashiering services provided for both patients and services. You will be required to undertake specified learning during the apprenticeship duration and this will include:
- SCQF Level 5 in Business Administration
- National and local induction procedures
- On-line learning
- Face to face and group learning activities
You will be supported to attend a local college and access mentoring / assessment within the workplace to achieve your SCQF – this will normally be one day per week during term time. There will also be a requirement to undertake a 6 – 12 week placement over the 23 months within another Cash Office in NHS Tayside to gain experience of other health care settings.
The successful candidate should have:
- Experience of working in a customer-facing environment.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Ability to undertake appropriate training for required work activities, according to workplace area & apprenticeship framework.
- Your performance must comply with the national “Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers 2009” and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
Internal - Written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview.
