Job Advert
This consultant vascular surgeon post is a fantastic opportunity to join the South West Scotland Vascular Network (SWSN) centralised at University Hospital Hairmyres covering the populations of NHS Lanarkshire, NHS Ayrshire and Arran and NHS Dumfries and Galloway. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to vascular and endovascular surgery in a major high volume expanding unit serving a population of 1.2 million offering the full remit of vascular surgery in one of the largest vascular centres in Scotland. Considerable investment and additional infrastructure is in place to support the SWSVN including a new state of the art hybrid endovascular operating theatre and new interventional radiology suite to compliment the surgical facilities already available. The procedures delivered include EVAR, FEVAR, TEVAR, CERAB, deep venous interventions, open aortic and carotid surgery, lower limb revascularisation and renal access with support provided by the vascular laboratory staffed by vascular scientists.
Although the successful applicant will be based in University Hospital Hairmyres, they may also be allocated sessional commitments to clinics, theatre and other elective vascular activities in NHS Ayrshire and Arran at University Hospital Crosshouse (20 minutes by car from University Hospital Hairmyres) or University Hospital Ayr (34 miles and 40 minutes by car from University Hospital Hairmyres).
