NHS Lanarkshire has an exciting opportunity to appoint two Consultant Ophthalmologists, based at University Hospital Hairmyres, East Kilbride. Applicants with any subspecialty interest that complements the current consultant body are invited to apply, but experience and subspecialty interests in Medical Retina or Neuro-ophthalmology are desirable.
The Department provides an expanding Ophthalmology service for the Lanarkshire region. Outpatient clinics are undertaken at University Hospital Hairmyres, University Hospital Monklands and University Hospital Wishaw. Elective surgery and inpatient admission facilities are primarily performed at University Hospital Hairmyres.
The department is evolving and expanding to ensure we continue to provide our patients with a modern and compassionate service.
The successful candidates will join a team of 10 additional Consultants, one Associate Specialist, two Specialty Doctors and five Specialist Trainees on rotation from the West of Scotland Ophthalmology Training programme.
