An opportunity has arisen to join the centralised pre-operative assessment team within NHS Ayrshire and Arran.  We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, reliable and flexible health care assistant to join our team. 

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.  You will have excellent organisational skills and will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team involved with the pre-operative assessment and preparation of patients from all surgical specialties.  You will have the confidence to interact with NHS staff at all levels as well as the ability to work independently.

You must have expanded role skills of performing nursing observations, venepuncture, glucometer readings, urinalysis and other roles as required of the position. IT skills are essential in this role.

SVQ level II + X19 and/or SVQ3 healthcare support (clinical) – or relevant experience - along with experience within a healthcare setting, preferably surgical, is essential. 

This post involves working between Crosshouse and Ayr Hospitals, therefore a driving licence and access to a car is essential. 

Post 1: 30.00 hours per week

Post 2: 22.50 hours per week

These are fixed term / secondment opportunity for one year.
