This is a permanent position. The shift pattern for this post 30 hours over a Monday – Friday period.
The Nursery Nurse will be responsible for delivering care to clients / families as delegated and directed by the health visiting / public health nursing team promoting a culture of engagement with patients and families which includes as core principles and values an approach which is kind, courteous, empathetic and respectful.
Skills required include the provision of advice, parenting skills, health promotion, health education and psychosocial interventions and to promote the principles of self-care with families empowering them to access and use health resources in their community.
At times there are interventions required such as group work and individual support which have been identified by the Health Visitor ( e.g. families who have been identified as requiring additional support) and you will work mainly independently without direct supervision in the family home on a day to day basis, you will be supported by liaising with the Health Visitor regarding your role in any child’s plan of care.
Daily workload will be varied with a range of activities delegated by the Health Visiting team.
The post holder will hold
• • SVQ3, HNC in child care or NNEB equivalent
• • Demonstrate a minimum of 2 Years working with Children /Young People and families
• • Ability to work on own initiative within a Team
