Imaging services are delivered to the NHS GGC area across 3 sectors
Glasgow - North East Sector:

Glasgow- South West Sector:
•Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
•Gartnavel General Hospital (inc West of Scotland Beatson Oncology Centre)

•West Glasgow ACH
•Institute Neurological Sciences
Paisley & Greenock - Clyde Sector:
•Royal Alexander Hospital
•Inverclyde Hospital
•Vale of Leven Hospital
Our Busy Radiology departments provide both Inpatient and Outpatient services including busy A&E departments and varied theatre work. We have a comprehensive Induction and Probation Programme, which is linked to a competency-based structure throughout the departments; this is an ideal supportive environment for new radiographers entering the profession. New members of staff will find themselves welcomed into vibrant and friendly departments that have a supportive attitude.
There has been significant investment in Imaging over the past few years resulting in state of the art imaging equipment in most areas. There is an integrated Care stream PACS and HSS CRIS across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Diagnostic Directorate enabling central booking for patient choice and reporting flexibility.
A combination of Fuji Computed Radiography (CR) system is used and we have Digital Radiography (DR) from a number of companies e.g.
•Computer tomography (CT) platforms: Toshiba, Siemens and GE
•Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI): Siemens, Philips and GE
•Interventional: Toshiba and Siemens and GE
Within each of our sectors there is cross site rotation based on a ‘hub and spoke’ model enabling staff to develop a breadth and depth of knowledge and skills across scheduled and unscheduled care.
NHSGGC are committed to radiography role development and have one Consultant Reporting Radiographer, two Consultant Sonographers, Advanced Practice Mammographers, a team of reporting radiographers and sonographers developing their roles in a variety of areas within Imaging such as Ultrasound guided FNA, Arthrography.
It is essential you have a Degree in Radiography / DCR (or due to graduate) and will require HCPC registration. The hours of these posts are worked 5/7, 365 days per year including public holiday, extended day working.
As an NHS employed Radiographer you will receive a range of benefits which includes an annual leave entitlement on commencement of 27 days rising to 29 days after five years and 33 days after 10 years and in addition 8 days Public Holiday entitlement per annum. (Leave entitlement is pro rata where applicable). You will also have access to the NHS Superannuation Pension Scheme as well as a range of other benefits including Child Care Vouchers, Bursaries to support education and training.
