The Chronic Pain Team are seeking to recruit a number of Senior Nurse Specialists.


The post holders will support the Clinical Nurse Manager in providing clinical and education support in the management of the chronic pain management service.   This will involve delivering of chronic pain management for patients to ensure a high standard of patient care and patient safety using evidence based standards.  


The post holders will manage their own caseload and will have a high level of knowledge to provide assessments and treatment of new patients with chronic and complex pain management.       

The post holders will work collaboratively with the multi disciplinary team and support the development of the service across organisational and professional boundaries.


We are seeking RGNs with knowledge, post registration experience, skills and experience in pain management or relevant experience working in long term conditions. Individuals who meet the requirements will commence on band 7. Applicants who are interested in developing into the role will commence on band 6. On successful completion of a structured framework programme will be transferred to band 7.


These posts will work as part of a multidisciplinary team covering the following areas:


Caithness / Sutherland

Skye, Lochalsh & Wester Ross / Lochaber

Inverness / Ross-shire/Nairn & Ardersier /Badenoch & Strathspey

Argyll and Bute


These permanent posts are offered for 18.75 hours per week, although applicants can apply to support more than one area on a 37.5 hours post.  Please state clearly on your application if you are applying for a specific area or areas.


These posts will be worked flexibly to meet service requirements, with some face to face and remote working; however travel throughout the area applied for will be required
