We are looking for a suitably qualified dynamic individual to the fulfill the position of Health and Safety Manager. 

You will undertake the day to day management of all Health and Safety matters throughout NHS Fife using existing leadership and managements skills to ensure provision of a safe environment for all staff, patients & visitors.

Working with minimum supervision you will use your skills, Health and Safety knowledge and initiative to deal with operational situations as they arise.  You will have good organisational, time management, and team building skills along with an excellent work ethic and a flexible and forward thinking approach to your duties, including formulation of Health and Safety training plans.

You will co-ordinate the training and development of all Health and Safety staff, Manual Handling trainers and Violence and Agression training staff, undertake regular 1 to 1 meetings with all staff members, arrange Occupational Health referrals, and deal with HR issues such as grievance & disciplinary investigations and allocate resources as required to provide appropriate levels of cover for the service.

Implementation of NHS Fife policies and procedures is a key element of the Health and Safety role and you will be ensuring they are complied with as well as reviewing and updating local procedures as required.

You will represent the Health and Safety department at all levels and attend meetings across NHS Fife including the Health and Social Care Partnership, and act as contact with external organisations.  Although based at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, you may be required to travel between NHS Fife sites.
