We are seeking two highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly and progressive Obstetrics and Gynaecology service in Ayrshire.
Replacement Post: this is a replacement substantive consultant position which is predominantly gynaecological with a special interest in colposcopy while contributing to both the gynaecology and obstetric rotas. You will join a team providing colposcopy and will be required to hold BSCCP Accreditation in Colposcopy or be working towards achieving this. The role has potential to contribute to the gyn-oncology team and/or the one stop outpatient PMB and hysteroscopy service depending on the applicant. RCOG ATSM qualifications (or equivalent experience) in Advanced Labour Ward Practice and BSCCP Accreditation in Colposcopy are required.
New post: this is a new consultant expansion position which is predominantly gynaecological with a special interest in urogynaecology while contributing to both the gynaecology and obstetric rotas. You will lead and provide urogynaecology services working with an active and dynamic multi-disciplinary team with fellow medics, specialist women’s health physiotherapists, dedicated continence specialist nurses and nurses with a special interest in pessary management. RCOG ATSM qualifications (or equivalent experience) in Advanced Labour Ward Practice and ATSM Urogynaecology and vaginal surgery (or equivalent experience).
We see the successful candidates as individuals with leadership skills who will engage with and help develop our service, specifically with respect to quality improvement and safety.
The job plan will also include gynaecology outpatients and regular elective gynaecology operating sessions as well as labour ward on call and elective obstetric lists. The on call contribution will be in both gynaecology and obstetrics. There is flexibility to develop the job to suit the development needs and interests of the applicant to complement the department.
We require candidates to be forward thinking and collaborative in their approach to the role and the development of the service across Ayrshire and Arran as we recover from the Covid pandemic. In addition to fixed duties, the post offers excellent opportunities for both teaching and research.
Applicants must hold full GMC registration with a License to Practice and must be on the Specialist Register, or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCT/CESR on the date of interview.
The terms and conditions of service are those determined by the new Consultant contract (Scotland 2004) and the post offers a 10 programmed activity basis. Applications from individuals who may wish to work on a part-time or job share basis will be considered.
