Adult Speech and Language Therapist

Specialist Speech & Language Therapist –
Band 6 £33,072 - £40,736
Full Time Post – 37.5 hours per week, Permanent
An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Speech and Language Therapist wishing to further develop a career in the field of Adult Acquired Disorders of Communication and Swallowing.
You will join a friendly team of 8 Specialist Speech and Language Therapists based at Raigmore Hospital serving the South and Mid Division of NHS Highland, and covering the full range of Adult Acquired specialisms. Clinical sessions will be divided between hospital and community care, providing support to people transferring to their own homes including residential Care Homes.
Raigmore Hospital is a busy general hospital providing a comprehensive service to the people of the Highlands. There is active involvement of SLT in the Young Adult Rehabilitation Unit, the Stroke Unit and the Head and Neck Cancer Multidisciplinary Team. The SLT department hosts tertiary clinics and provides an area wide advisory service for other Speech and Language Therapists in NHS Highland. The South and Mid Division provides community care around locality based Integrated Health and Social Care Teams and six Community Hospitals.
Clinical experience appropriate to the specialism is essential, ideally with post basic training in dysphagia management.
A BSc, or equivalent, in Speech Pathology and Therapeutics, is essential, along with registration with the Health and Care Professions Council. Registration with RCSLT is preferred.
