The Healthcare Staffing Programme has a requirement for a Healthcare Science National Workforce Lead to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of the Health & Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019.

The programme team is working with Health Boards across Scotland to support improvement in workload and workforce planning in line with new Health and Care (staffing) (Scotland) legislation. The post holder will work with a range of stakeholders focussing on acute sector in the first instance. They will scope current workforce planning tools and methodologies utilised to inform current Healthcare Science workforce planning.  In addition, the post holder will provide expert senior leadership for the development, testing and implementation of workforce tools for Healthcare Science services across Scotland, taking into account the need for multi-professional approaches and digital solutions to reduce the data capture burden.

The key outcome of this work is to enable workforce decisions that will ensure that at all times, suitably qualified and competent individuals from a range of professional disciplines, are working in such numbers as are appropriate for the health, wellbeing and safety of patients or service users, and the provision of high-quality health care for individuals across Scotland.

We are looking for a Healthcare Scientist with strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as expert working knowledge in Healthcare Science workload and workforce planning.  This post will work in partnership with the existing Healthcare Science National Workforce Lead. The post holder must have an ability to devise, implement and monitor a range of engagement strategies to ensure Healthcare Science teams across Scotland and Professional Bodies are actively engaged to support the work of the Healthcare Staffing Programme
