An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to join the Specialist Harm Reduction Service.  This is an excellent opportunity for a committed individual to work with our ambitious team.  We are looking for an individual with developed administration skills to bring a creative approach to the post.


The main purpose of the harm reduction team is to reduce harm associated with drug use; assessing and reducing injecting risk, testing and treatment for blood borne virus and sexually transmitted infections, prevention of overdose and support for people experiencing problematic substance use.  The post holder will be supported by the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Managed Care Network (MCN) team with the overall aim of improving health and reducing health inequalities experienced by people affected by blood borne virus (BBV) and people at risk of poor sexual and reproductive health.


The post holder will work closely with the specialist nurses to provide comprehensive administrative support to the service.  The post holder is required to be organised and caring as they act as the first point of contact for service users and staff.  In addition the post holder will provide administrative support and coordination of training for the Take Home Naloxone programme and Injecting Equipment Provision (IEP) service, including compilation and reporting of data.


Applicants should be educated to HNC level or equivalent and have experience of working in a health or social care setting.  Applicants should have effective communication skills with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team essential.  The applicant should have well developed IT skills including knowledge of administrative processes and medical terminology.

Hours of work are 30 hours per week and the actual days worked can be negotiated within a Monday to Friday pattern.
