We have an exciting opportunity for a librarian to join our Libraries team within Public Health and Intelligence (PHI), one of the strategic business units of National Services Scotland (NSS). PHI provides health information, health intelligence, statistical services and advice, health protection services, as well as library and knowledge services that support the NHS in progressing quality improvement in health and care and facilitate robust planning and decision making.
Based in the Health Protection Scotland Library, the Librarian will undertake a wide range of duties to deliver an effective library and information service to internal and external customers, including advanced literature searching, production of current awareness services, information skills training.
You will have a degree or postgraduate qualification in library/information studies or equivalent and experience working within a library and information environment, together with excellent communication skills, IT skills, knowledge of bibliographic databases and electronic library management systems.
We are looking for someone with a flexible approach, good attention to detail and a helpful and friendly manner, who will thrive as part of a busy team. The postholder will be based in Glasgow but will be required to travel to Edinburgh on occasion.
