The Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit is the nationally designated tertiary referral centre for the diagnosis and management of patients with pulmonary hypertension in Scotland.
The Unit has a significant research programme and it is expected that the new Fellow will participate in basic science or clinical research leading to the award of an MD or PhD degree.
This post is in addition to two other established posts and commences August 2022. Applicants must have the PACES examination. We would welcome applications from doctors at level IMT3 or Specialist Registrars looking for 2 to 3 years research/break in their training. This post is outside the MTAS process.
The Fellow will also be responsible (with colleagues) for the care of both inpatients and outpatients with pulmonary hypertension and will become competent in right heart catheterisation, pulmonary angiography and pulmonary vasodilator studies. In addition the Fellow will also be able to participate in the training programme for respiratory or cardiac medicine in the West of Scotland.
