NHS Lothian is seeking to recruit into key roles within our Test and Protect Service (TaP) which aims to successfully break the chain of transmission of COVID 19 in the community.

The post holder will be one of several team leaders responsible for leading and supporting the contact tracers working in NHS Lothian TaP in their day to day duties, delivering training and education opportunities for the contact tracers, ensuring guidance is followed, standards of work are adhered to, deadlines are met and their wellbeing is maintained. This is also a key role in ensuring effective links between TaP and NHS Lothian Specialist HPT, IPCT and OHS services ensuring cases are escalated promptly along defined clinical pathways. NHS Lothian TaP team leads also work closely with the National Contact Tracing Centre (NCTC) team leads in ensuring cases are appropriately allocated according to resource available and that cases are progressed without delay.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with proven leadership skills who can meet the challenge of supporting and leading a team while working remotely.  A great telephone manner and the confidence to communicate with individuals in a variety of different roles in NHS Lothian and NCTC, as well as members of the public who may be angry or distressed is essential.  You should be proficient in using electronic systems for accurate data collection and knowledge of basic IT systems such as Microsoft Office would be beneficial.

The post holder will be working remotely from home but will be supported throughout each shift by the Team Managers and through regular meetings with the wider team using MS Teams. Access to reliable Wi-Fi and a suitable workspace to be able to hold confidential telephone conversations is essential.
