Job Advert

Children & Young Peoples Community Physiotherapist, Band 6
(2 full time 37.5hr posts 1 x permanent, 1 fixed term for 1 year (Part time or job share considered)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 experienced Physiotherapists to join our Child Health Physiotherapy service. Base will be either Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline or Randolph Wemyss Memorial Hospital, Leven.

Both posts are full time, working across the Fife community in a variety of settings including clinics, educational establishments, Fife Leisure facilities and home visits but also making use of virtual technology.  You will provide physiotherapy assessment and intervention to children and young adults with musculoskeletal, neurological or respiratory conditions.  Both posts will also be involved in the rehabilitation of children who have suffered major trauma and support the implementation of the Child Healthy Weight Program in all age groups.

The day to day caseload is variable and you may be asked to clinically manage a respiratory assessment, an MSK clinic and children with complex special needs in a school, all in the one day.  Experience may also be gained in hydrotherapy, exercise in water and rebound therapy.

The ability to travel throughout Fife and experience in working with children and young people is, therefore, essential to this post.  However, the children and young people on your caseload will be triaged appropriate to your level of experience, and you will receive support and guidance from highly specialist physiotherapists within the team.  The Physiotherapy Service is committed to continuous professional development, mentoring and peer review, in service training and support for agreed external or post graduate training.

You will be educated to degree level, be HCPC registered and will have worked autonomously as a postgraduate.  We would expect experience over a variety of care groups and community experience would be an advantage.  You will be an excellent communicator, be well organised and be able to demonstrate good clinical reasoning.

If you would like to discuss this opportunity informally then please call Gillian Bell, Operational Lead Physiotherapist on 01383 674000, we would be delighted to hear from you.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
