Delivery of effective and lasting transformation of health and social care services is central to the vision of Glasgow City Health & Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP). Transformation is not just changing how services are structured. Transformation is about making significant changes to how services are planned and delivered in partnership with people who use them and above all demonstrate a clear commitment to the GCHSCP’s values.

This innovative partnership between NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Glasgow City Council is responsible for seamlessly delivering all primary care, local community health and social care services to our residents. Our long-term vision as an HSCP is that the city’s people can flourish with access to health and social care support when they need it. This will be done by transforming health and social care services for better lives. We believe that stronger communities make healthier lives.

We are now seeking to appoint a new Head of Service Planning who will provide leadership for strategy, planning and performance management for Glasgow City HSCP’s Older People’s Services and South Locality. This is an exciting time with transformation programmes underway across the GCHSCP’s services and we are seeking someone who has the credibility and inspiration to support these major change initiatives.

Pivotal to the role will be the candidate’s ability to work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management colleagues, Clinical Director colleagues, the Local Medical Committee and Elected Members of the council and Non-Executive Board Members of the board, and a range of external partners at a local and national level. There is no doubt that this role will have a challenging agenda  and will require exceptional leadership credentials and the  necessary vision and experience to ensure that we deliver on our quality/safety, financial and operational improvement priorities.

We are seeking an individual with a proven track record of working with general management to produce and effect change along with a track record in strategic development and implementation and engagement of communities in this.

Already an accomplished and credible leader you will be naturally engaging and able to inspire the confidence of front line staff and their senior team at a time of unprecedented change for the organisation.

You will be Educated to Master’s Degree level or equivalent, with a relevant professional qualification.  Candidates for this role must be able to demonstrate significant senior management experience within a large complex organisation, preferably within the NHS/Local Authority, Public or Caring Sector. Candidates from other large, complex, service organisations who are already accomplished and credible executive level leaders, familiar with working in multidisciplinary front facing environments will also be considered.

If you believe you can meet the challenges that this high-profile role brings then we would welcome your application.
