An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Systems Manager to work with the enthusiastic and supportive Laboratory team in NHS Ayrshire and Arran based at University Hospital Crosshouse but working across sites.
You will have a background in Biomedical Science, and experience with Laboratory Systems is highly desirable. The role includes maintenance and development of the laboratory management system and associated systems, order comms and near patient testing, and discipline specific systems such as digital pathology. You will support all disciplines with quality systems and maintenance of UKAS and MHRA accreditation. There will be a requirement to Deputise for the Systems manager when needed. Attendance at external meetings to represent NHS Ayrshire and Arran will form part of the role.
You will be accountable to the Systems Manager, working with them to provide support and effective, reliable and forward looking laboratory systems.
You are required to have post-qualification experience within a routine diagnostic laboratory with knowledge of laboratory systems. You will be Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered, with an Honours Degree or equivalent acceptable to the HCPC, and a further MSc in Biomedical Sciences or have gained Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (FIBMS). You will not be expected to participate in the out-of-hours rota. You will be expected to assist in training for laboratory and non-laboratory personnel.
