The Working health service and Fair start Service are vocational rehabilitation services that provide advice and intervention  to employees, employers and GPs to help people  to return to and stay in work. 

We require a specialist adult Vocational Occupational Therapist within the working Health and Fair Start services to provide specialist Vocational Occupational Therapy assessment, consultation and treatment, that includes activity analysis, job analysis and advice on equipment provision,  To be involved in  environmental and workplace adaptations as required and as appropriate to adults with  both physical and mild to moderate mental ill health barriers to work.

The Vocational Occupational Therapist will have interface with Local Council fair start advisors/case managers, Working health services staff nationally, Integrated Mental Health Services and Third Sector Partners.

In the context of working within a vocational rehabilitation service, the post holder will function as an autonomous practitioner making daily decisions about care pathways for patients taking into consideration their condition/s and associated risk factors.

The role of the Fair Start / Working Health services Vocational Occupational Therapist will be flexible in response to the requirements of the service.

Applicants must have adequate computer skills and the ability to promote the service providing support to Businesses, NHS staff and other organisations both remotely and face to face to raise  awareness and develop the FV Vocational Rehabilitation service.

The successful Applicant must be  able to work autonomously and be able to demonstrate excellent personal organisational and communication skills along with the ability to meet deadlines.
