Psychological Therapist (Specialist) Band 7

The Midlothian Community Health and Social Care Partnership is developing its Psychological Therapies Service and currently has 2 additional Psychological Therapist posts to recruit to.

These posts will be managed within the Joint Mental Health Team in Midlothian to provide evidence-based psychological therapies. These posts will involve undertaking psychological assessment, formulation and delivery of evidence-based psychological intervention(s) for clients presenting with a range of complex mental health needs (Matrix 3-4).

You will be joining a team of psychological therapists and psychologists. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload from admission to discharge, including the prioritisation of waiting lists, to support the delivery of national targets. This is also an opportunity to be involved in Waiting List Initiatives to address the demand for psychological therapies in Midlothian.

You will require good team working, excellent assessment skills and highly developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies e.g. CBT, CBASP, , EMDR. You may also require supervising, teaching and supporting high and low intensity therapists or trainees. Experience in developing and implementing therapy groups, which are informed by a range of psychological theoretical approaches, is also desirable.
