A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a RN's to join the Respiratory department within Wards 10 and 5, Glasgow Royal Infirmary

In this crucial role you will part of the multidiscipline team in the field of continuing respiratory nursing for a patient centred journey through acute and chronic admissions.
As a progressive ward you will develop robust clinical expertise in the field of respiratory nursing e.g. non-invasive respiratory support, CPAP, and skills within the management of Covid 19 patients. This is a crucial role this pandemic period to move safe and research based care forwards.
As a ward nurse, and as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will have the responsibility for ensuring there is an assessment of care needs and support programmes of care ensuring high quality assured care to patients within the respiratory department.
You will be key in within the multidisciplinary team by utilising all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensure involvement with the patient, family, carers and significant others.
You will Use your own initiative and act independently within the bounds of your existing knowledge and skills. You will demonstrates sound judgment in assessing the emotional and physical care of the patient in a patient centred way
You will empower patients to take responsibility for their health, well-being and future lifestyle by practising in an open, transparent and inclusive manner; thereby ensuring patients have the relevant information to participate in decisions about their care.
As part of this team your continuing development is forefront. Access to further education and leadership development, with internal support with vocational modules via S.V.Q scheme and yearly grants available for conference contributions or Master programmes. There is a robust career structure within Medical wards of North G.G. &.C. Opportunities to develop wider management skills will continue through this post. You will be part of the medical service team working within Trust targets and budgets associated with this department.
The candidate should have experience working as a registered nurse, and / or a desire to work within respiratory nursing.
The shift pattern is; Rotational day/night 7 days per week
