The service is expanding due to COVID requirements and Test and Protect. The service will ultimately be a 7 day a week service between the hours of 8am and 8pm and you will be required to be available to work a shift pattern within these hours

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Nurse Consultant to join our Health Protection Team within the Directorate of Public Health and Health Policy at NHS Lothian. This is a permanent, full time position. The main departmental office base is at Waverley Gate, located in central Edinburgh, with excellent travel links to surrounding areas.

Successful applicants will be key members of a multi-disciplinary Health Protection Team which supports a full range of activity including communicable and infectious disease control, CBRN incidents, management of environmental hazards, port health and disease surveillance. The post holder will take part in health protection on-call arrangements.

We are looking for a Nurse Consultant with specialist knowledge, expertise and experience in health protection at a senior level. The post holder will have the ability to provide strategic, operational, clinical and professional leadership for Health Protection nursing practice, supporting the development of Health Protection nursing services in the Public Health and Health Policy Directorate and taking the lead on health protection topics for key priority areas.

Candidates must be registered with the NMC as 1st Level Nurse, with a Master of Public Health or equivalent education at higher degree level.
