NHS Forth Valley seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Biomedical Scientist colleague to lead the Pathology Department.  You must be suitably qualified, experienced and Health and Care Professions Council registered. 

Forth Valley Royal Hospital is located very centrally between Scotland’s two largest cities, approximately 30 minutes from Glasgow and 45 minutes from Edinburgh by car or train.  Their respective airports are little over half an hour from most parts of Forth Valley and road and rail links are excellent.

The post holder is responsible for the delivery and development of histopathology, cytology, andrology, and mortuary services to the acute hospital, community hospitals and to general practice. 

The Pathology department at Forth Valley is UKAS accredited and is an approved IBMS training laboratory.

You must have an M.Sc. qualification and/or Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Science with experience as a Biomedical Scientist, leading a team in an NHS Pathology Laboratory. A management qualification would be desirable and evidence of active participation in Continuing Professional Development is required.
