Specialist Pharmacist (Cancer Care) – CEPAS/Medicines Governance

The West of Scotland Cancer Network (WoSCAN) is responsible for the quality delivery of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) services to inpatients, out-patients and day cases in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and Arran and Forth Valley as well as locations within NHS Highland.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and self-motivated pharmacist to join the WoSCAN clinical pharmacy team. The post holder will support the regional cancer medicines governance processes for WoSCAN and equally the development and maintenance of the clinical elements of Chemotherapy Electronic Prescribing and Administration System (CEPAS) for the four Health Boards in WoSCAN. 

 The post holder will:
•    Support the operation of the RCAG Prescribing Advisory Subgroup
•    Be responsible for the day to day co-ordination and maintenance of the Systemic Anticancer Therapy (SACT) protocol library
•    Be an integral member of the CEPAS Clinical pharmacy support team, supporting the day to day maintenance of the prescribing, clinical pharmacy and dispensing modules in the WoSCAN instance of CEPAS, Chemocare.

Based in the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, the postholder will be expected to travel to different sites in the four NHS Boards (Greater Glasgow & Clyde, Ayrshire and Arran, Forth Valley, and Lanarkshire) as required. You must have at least two years post registration experience in hospital pharmacy and demonstrable experience of cancer clinical pharmacy care. You must have excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.

There will be an opportunity for the post holder to undertake a clinical pharmacy or non-medical prescribing commitment
