The Digital Group has created a strategic programme for the transformation of digital based services to allow NES to become a leading digital organisation in Scottish Health, digital by default and fully aligned with the Scottish Government’s eHealth and Digital strategies. The Knowledge Management and Discovery Business Unit promotes access to the evidence, research and learning resources to support the health and social care workforce through the delivery of a learning management system, Turas Learn https://learn.nes.nhs.scot/ and a Digital library hosted on The Knowledge Network www.knowledge.scot.nhs.uk.
What you’ll do
As a qualified librarian you will support health and social care staff to access and use the national digital library resources and support the wider knowledge management activities of the Knowledge Services Outreach Team. This includes supporting communities of practice to share knowledge and experience. You will also deliver information management training to administrators of Turas Learn websites.
What you’ll bring
- Educated to degree level with a qualification in library and information related studies
- Experience supporting users of a digital library and delivering training sessions
- Experience answering help desk enquiries
- Understanding of the importance of information literacy and health literacy skills
- Understanding to the importance of good information management to aid discovery
- Appreciate the role of communities of practice to support knowledge sharing
