Infant Feeding Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health Visitor or Midwife to work across Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership (AHSCP) as an Infant Feeding Coordinator. Primarily the post holder will provide infant feeding supports to health visitors and other team members, across the seven AHSCP teams however, the service extends across children and family services.
The post holder will act as a role model in promoting best practice in relation to infant feeding
and take a lead role in the implementation of the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) across AHSCP children and family services including the development of BFI leads and the planning, development and delivery of appropriate UNICEF programme training. The post holder will be familiar with UNICEF Baby Friendly Standards
The post holder will be a qualified Health Visitor or Midwife with 3 years experience in these roles including the provision of infant feeding advice and services. The post holder will provide information and support for women and families and advise colleagues within health and partner agencies across AHSCP and NHS Grampian, on a range of infant feeding best practice and complex infant feeding issues.
The post holder will function as an autonomous practitioner working within clinical and professional guidelines requiring excellent communication skills, good IT skills, the ability to manage a number of complex cases and the skill to prioritise the demands regularly. The post holder must have updated NMC registration, Revalidation, PVG and be a car owner and driver.
This post will be directly line managed by the AHSCP Operational Lead Nurse for Children and Families and clinical supervision will be provided at regular intervals. The post holder will work closely with the NHS Grampian Infant Feeding team to improve service delivery and for peer support.
