As a Phlebotomist you will be working in the Haematology Department. Your main duty will be to collect blood samples by venepuncture for laboratory analysis from all relevant clinical areas. Previous experience in Phlebotomy is desirable, however full training will be provided in all aspects of the job. It is essential that you demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills whilst being able to reassure patients and set them at ease.

Flexible working is essential regarding the exact days and times of work periods and hours worked will be over seven days (Mon – Sun). Initial training for this post will take place during weekdays but the successful candidate will be required to cover some weekends when fully trained. You may be required to work across other sites within Ayrshire and Arran, therefore a driving license is essential. 

There are four posts in total, two at University Hospital Ayr and two at University Hospital Crosshouse.
