Pharmacy Technician Higher Level

Band 6

Pharmaceutical Public Health is offering a post for an experienced pharmacy technician with an interest in public health and health improvement to support the wider healthcare team with public health and health improvement initiatives and clinical queries.

The post holder will manage and support initiatives such as the Quit Your Way stop smoking service in community pharmacies and the wider community, acute and maternity services. Other areas of work will include managing the provision of Vitamin D to babies and young children and developing services for sexual health, and early detection of cancer referrals from pharmacy.

Candidates should have the ability to work with a range of colleagues in a multi-disciplinary setting including the third sector. The post holder will develop and implement robust project management systems, provide high quality information and analysis whilst ensuring professional standards are met.

The role will involve developing and delivering training to a range of healthcare staff.

Candidates must be registered with The General Pharmaceutical Council with an NC in Pharmaceutical Science (or equivalent). They should have 3 years post qualification experience.

The post is 0.6WTE but could be split into two 0.4 and a 0.2WTE posts.

It will be based at West House, Gartnavel and will involve some travel within NHSGGC.
