Do you have a keen interest in Medicines Information, strong leadership & communication skills and the desire to influence strategy at a high level.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic pharmacist to join the Medicines Information Team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (based between the Royal Alexandra Hospital & Glasgow Royal Infirmary).  You will be responsible for the provision of specialist medicines information services.  Additionally you will provide high quality pharmaceutical care to a group of patients at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.  Confidence and enthusiasm for multidisciplinary working are essential.  A key responsibility of this post will be to lead on the Medicines Information team’s input to management of medicines shortages in the NHSGGC acute service.

The team provides an efficient clinical enquiry answering and advice service on all aspects of medicines use to health care professionals across acute and primary care.   You will, therefore, need excellent communication, time management and leadership skills.  Training is another key responsibility and the scope ranges from equipping foundation and pre-registration pharmacists with basic Medicines Information skills to providing training to non-pharmacy staff (e.g. Nurse Independent Prescribers).

The Medicines Information team are a dynamic, forward thinking team who encourage new and innovative ways of working.  As a key member of the team you will be supported to develop your skills, knowledge and experience in this specialist area of pharmacy.

You are required to have a Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and will be a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council with the relevant post registration experience and evidence of postgraduate training and professional development. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme.
