Queen Elizabeth University Hospital is currently inviting applicants for a vacant Lead Radiographer. 

This is an opportunity for an experienced, hardworking individual to be a Modality Lead for plain film, Fluoroscopy, theatre and mobile Imaging services to provide overall day to day leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with the local management team to deliver a quality, patient focused service and lead on staff training and development in those areas.

QEUH is the acute site within the south West Sector and is a designated major trauma centre. There is a hub and spoke radiographer rotation, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital being the hub with GGH, VACH and INS being the spokes. There is a cross site rotation based on a ‘hub and spoke’ model enabling staff to develop a breadth and depth of knowledge and skills across scheduled and unscheduled care.

The South West Sector has a strong working relationship with the local university and we host in the region of 90 student clinical placements in an innovative learning environment. You will liaise closely with the university and practice educators to ensure a high quality training environment for all undergraduate and post graduate students on placement whilst having a commitment to supporting and developing staff.

You will be key to the development and implementation of clinical and professional standards e.g. review of imaging protocols in line with best practice and IRMER 2017 regulations.

You will be responsible for day to day leadership in X-ray imaging, working closely with referring clinicians, supporting staff development and overseeing quality assurance standards to ensure they are effected, documented and acted on as appropriate.
